How to Register a death in Harrow.

To register a death in Harrow you will need to contact the borough in which the death occurred. Northwick Park Hospital is in the borough of Brent – NOT Harrow. Generally you must register a death within 5 days. The person best qualified to register a death is a relative of the deceased. If for some reason this is not possible then please contact the Harrow Register Office for advice.
The death in Harrow cannot be registered until a doctor or the coroner has issued a medical certificate showing the cause of death. If the coroner is involved – which is not unusual – the corner will send the certificate direct to the Registrar.
At your appointment to register a death in Harrow you will be given a death certificate and a burial/cremation certificate (green form) must then be given to the undertaker before the funeral can be arranged. Where the corner has been involved. the burial or cremation certificate will be a coroner’s certificate for cremation and sent directly to the funeral director. If there has been a post mortem but the deceased is to be buried, the Harrow Registrar of death will still issue the certificate.

- Date and place of birth.
- Address and occupation.
If the deceased was married or widowed then their spouses full names and occupations are required.
For a civil partner, the full names and occupations of the deceased and surviving partner.
